EU ministers agree the basis of farm policy after 2027

After 12 hours of talks, agriculture ministers of all 27 EU countries unanimously reached a partial agreement on the rules for Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) payments after 2027. Spain’s minister Luis Planas says the CAP has been kept a truly European policy. The text still has to be negotiated with the European Parliament from January 2027, and its funding depends on EU leaders.
