According to regional authorities, a Russian jet-powered drone hit a platform at Dnipro station where the Dnipro–Zaporizhzhia passenger train was standing: at least 14 dead and 10 injured. Zelensky called on the US, EU and G7 for new sanctions.

Ukrainian Railways said people were on the platform despite a heightened threat alert. Zelensky called the attack “atrocious” and criticised the lifting of sanctions on Russia’s energy sector, while US President Donald Trump repeated in the same days that an energy truce between Russia and Ukraine is in place.

For the large Ukrainian community in the province of Alicante, this is another blow to civilian infrastructure, including the railway families use to travel between cities. Help for victims is best given through verified, officially registered organisations.
