The United States will bring Ukrainian and Russian delegations together in Abu Dhabi on 10 and 11 November, special envoy Steve Witkoff said. The talks will cover ending the war, post-war security guarantees, de-escalation and humanitarian measures.

The last US-mediated talks were held in February. Before the meeting Witkoff will discuss guarantees for Kyiv and Ukraine’s reconstruction in Brussels with France, Germany, the UK, the EU and NATO. The Kremlin has confirmed that Vladimir Medinsky will lead the Russian delegation.

📍 What is on the table

Witkoff said on X that these are working-level negotiations, not a meeting of presidents. According to him, the talks will focus on post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian efforts and next steps towards peace. The US wants to build on the progress made at earlier meetings in Kyiv, Oslo and St Petersburg.

📍 What happened in earlier rounds

Abu Dhabi has already hosted trilateral US–Ukraine–Russia talks on 23–24 January and 4–5 February 2026. The February meeting ended with an agreement to exchange 314 prisoners of war, 157 from each side. Zelensky, as reported by the DPA agency, hopes the European Union will also join the talks and is calling for more pressure on Moscow.

Many Ukrainians and Russians live on the Costa Blanca, and for them the meeting is the first hope in a long time of movement towards peace. The outcome is still unpredictable; we will follow the official statements of both sides.
