In short
All dealings with Alicante City Council — padrón registration, certificates, taxes, filing documents, digital certificates — go through the Oficinas de Atención Ciudadana (OAC). They see people by appointment only. You can book on 010 or 900 153 862, or at citaprevia.alicante.es. All padrón procedures are free. A padrón certificate can be obtained online or without an appointment at a self-service kiosk (Ciberkiosco).
OAC offices and how to book
The OAC are open on weekdays in the morning and afternoon; exact hours are on each office’s page. Padrón registration (new registration or change of address) is done at the “Labradores” and “Séneca” OAC.
- Online: at citaprevia.alicante.es choose “Tipo de servicio” → “Servicio de Atención Integral a la Ciudadanía (SAIC)” and the right “Gestión”.
- Appointments open 15 days ahead, and a new day is added every working day. Free dates are shown in green.
- If several people register at the same address, one appointment covers them all.
- Your ID at the appointment must match the one you booked with, or you will not be seen. If you cannot come, cancel the appointment.
| Office | Address | How to book |
|---|---|---|
| OAC Labradores | C/ Labradores, 14 | By phone only: 010 / 900 153 862 |
| OAC Séneca | C/ Portugal, 17 | Online at citaprevia.alicante.es or by phone 010 / 900 153 862 |
| OAC Gastón Castelló | C/ Pino Santo, 1 | Online or by phone; no padrón registration |
Padrón registration: documents
All documents must be originals and valid. Foreign official documents need a sworn translation into Spanish. You can also register online at the e-office (Sede Electrónica) if you have a digital certificate or an electronic DNI.
- EU citizens: passport or national ID card and the NIE shown on the EU registration certificate.
- Non-EU citizens: TIE or passport.
- Children: the child’s ID and Libro de Familia or birth certificate, consent from both parents and copies of their ID.
- Own home: nota simple or title deed if bought less than a year ago; otherwise the latest IBI bill or an electricity, water, gas or landline bill in your name.
- Rental: a valid lease in your name, the latest rent payment and copies of all owners’ ID. If you are not on the lease, authorisation from the owners and tenants.
- Living with someone else: authorisation and copies of the ID of every owner, plus proof of ownership (as for your own home).
Padrón certificate without an appointment
A padrón certificate (certificado) or report (informe, volante) — individual, historical since 1996 or for everyone at the address — can be obtained online at the Sede Electrónica with an electronic signature, by post, or in person by appointment at the OAC and district boards (Juntas de Distrito), or without an appointment at a Ciberkiosco. The kiosk needs identification: electronic DNI, Cl@ve, the Tarjeta Ciudadana de Alicante or the tax office login.
Kiosks are located, for example, at OAC Labradores (C/ Labradores, 14), OAC Séneca (C/ Portugal, 17), the Gastón Castelló centre (C/ Pino Santo, 1A), the finance department (C/ Jorge Juan, 5) and the Las Cigarreras cultural centre. The full list and map are on the council website. If another authority asks you for a padrón certificate, note that under Article 28.3 of Law 39/2015 public bodies must not demand documents the administration already holds.
Not living in Alicante city?
You register with the council of the town where you live most of the year. If you live in Torrevieja or Orihuela Costa, you need their town hall; we have separate guides.
