In the index of the independent DYNTRA platform, Torrevieja Town Hall met 157 of 184 transparency indicators (85.33%): first in the Valencian Community and seventh in Spain. The town previously ranked 167th nationally.

What was assessed. DYNTRA checks what information town halls publish themselves: organisation, budget and finances, contracts, urban planning and citizen participation. Torrevieja scored best for economic and financial transparency (100%) and urban planning and public works (95%), followed by contracting (85.19%), municipal transparency (81.82%) and participation (76.92%). Its weakest area is open data (50%). In April the town was 22nd in Spain and 37th in the region; the data were checked on 21 October.

Why it matters to residents. The more a town hall publishes itself, the easier it is to find contracts, budgets and planning decisions about works near your home — such as the Los Locos promenade or the Torreta Florida project. The town hall’s transparency portal is on torrevieja.es. Note that DYNTRA rates whether information is published, not how well public services work.
