In September 1.34 million international tourists came to the Valencia region, 12.1% more than a year earlier and the fastest growth of any Spanish region. Their spending rose by 18.4% to €1.89 billion, according to INE.
On 4 November the National Statistics Institute (INE) published its September data on foreign visitors. In total 10.1 million people came to Spain, 4.3% more than in September 2025, and they spent €14,488 million, up 8.1%. On average each tourist spent €1,429 in the country, or €212 a day.

📍 Our region is growing fastest
The Valencia region, which includes the provinces of Alicante, Valencia and Castellón, received 1,335,631 international tourists in September, up 12.1% year on year. By comparison, the Balearic Islands were up 0.1%, Catalonia 4.5% and Andalusia 5.4%. From January to September the region welcomed 10.73 million foreign tourists, 9.3% more than a year earlier.
📍 Spending more and staying longer
Foreign tourists spent €1,887 million in the region in September, 18.4% more than a year earlier. That is the biggest rise in spending among the regions in the INE table. On average each tourist spent €1,413 (up 5.6%), but less per day: €140 (down 4.8%). The reason is the length of trips: an average of 10.1 days, 10.9% longer than a year ago and longer than in any other region in the table.
📍 Who comes to Spain
According to the government, the British still come first: 2.2 million tourists (up 7.2%) and €2,791 million in spending. About 1.3 million people came from Germany (down 4.7%) and 1 million from France (down 1.5%). Visitors from the United States are growing fastest, up 16.7%. The summaries give no separate figures for the province of Alicante, and all the data are provisional: INE will revise them in March.
