Torrevieja council has put out to tender its vehicle towing, impound and temporary barriers and signs service: €5.62 million including VAT for five years with no extension. The new service is due to start on 18 January 2027, and bids are accepted until 30 November.

Tow trucks will operate around the clock, every day of the year, under the supervision of the Local Police and mobility officers. The contractor must have at least five tow trucks and a trailer for motorbikes, bicycles and scooters; on weekdays three trucks are on duty in the morning and afternoon and two at night.

Cars will be removed not only for illegal parking but also after accidents, when abandoned, after drink-driving checks or missing documents, and even correctly parked cars if the space is needed for an event, works or an emergency. So temporary no-parking signs in Torrevieja are worth taking seriously.
