Torrevieja: the Friday market

The town’s main market is held on Fridays on Avenida Delfina Viudes, next to the water park. According to the Generalitat tourism portal it runs from 08:00 to 14:00 and is noticeably busier in summer. Stalls sell fresh produce, clothing, accessories and household goods.

La Mata: the Wednesday market

The second weekly market in the municipality of Torrevieja is held on Wednesdays on Avenida de Francia in La Mata. Torrevieja Tourism does not publish its opening hours, so go in the morning and check locally.

Orihuela Costa: the summer evening market and other markets

Orihuela Town Hall runs a summer market on Paseo de Aguamarina and Calle Cielo, mostly jewellery and handmade goods. In 2025 it opened from 1 June to 15 September, 19:00 to 00:00. The Concejalía de Mercados announces the dates for each season.

Third-party listings mention other markets along the Orihuela coast, but we found no official schedule on the town hall website. Before you go, check the day and place with the Concejalía de Mercados: mercados@orihuela.es, tel. 966 076 100 (ext. 3029 and 3059).

Orihuela town: Tuesday and Saturday

On Tuesdays there are weekly markets on Avenida Marqués de Molins, Plaza de la Trinidad and in San Bartolomé. The Saturday market is on Avenida de la Vega; during the Reconquista festivities in July the town hall has moved it to Avenida Marqués de Molins.

Before you go

  • Markets can be moved or cancelled on public holidays and during town events — check the town hall news.
  • In summer go early: markets are much busier in those months.
  • Bring a shopping bag and water; for everyday shopping see the shops and centres in our guide.
Keep in mindDays and locations checked against the Torrevieja and Orihuela town hall websites and the Generalitat tourism portal on 16 October 2026. Markets can move because of holidays and events: check town hall notices before you go.
