Where these dates come from
Spain has at most 14 paid public holidays a year: 12 set by the state and the region, and 2 more by each municipality. The 2027 calendar for the Valencian Community was approved by the Consell in Decree 42/2026 of 20 March 2026 (DOGV No. 10329, 25 March 2026); on 13 October 2026 the BOE published the full 2027 list for all regions.

Holidays that fall on a Saturday
The weekdays are our own calculation from the decree dates. 1 May, 9 October and 25 December 2027 fall on a Saturday: neither the decree nor the BOE list moves these days to a Monday for the Valencian Community. 15 August 2027 is a Sunday and is not on the 2027 list.
Why Maundy Thursday is not included
In most Spanish regions 25 March 2027 (Maundy Thursday) is a holiday. In the Valencian Community, Easter Monday (29 March) applies instead: according to the BOE list, Maundy Thursday is not a holiday here. If you have family or colleagues in other regions, check their column in the BOE.
Local holidays: 2027 not yet set
Each municipality’s council proposes its two local holidays and the Generalitat approves them in a separate resolution in the DOGV. The 2026 list was published on 14 November 2025; as of 16 October 2026 the 2027 local holidays have not been published. For reference, here are the 2026 dates from the DOGV; they may differ in 2027.

What this means in practice
- On public holidays town halls, registries and most government offices are closed; health centres that are open 24 hours keep working.
- Public holidays do not count as working days in administrative deadlines — plan document submissions with time to spare.
- Holiday events, markets and activities are in the Costa Blanca events guide.
