Calpe (Calp) for residents: padrón by appointment, 24-hour health centre, Dénia hospital, TRAM, beaches and the Peñón de Ifach

How to register on the padrón in Calp (OAC appointment required, free), which documents to bring, why your hospital is in Dénia, the 24-hour health centre, five 2026 Blue Flag beaches, Saturday and Wednesday markets, the TRAM and the airport bus.

In short

Calpe (officially Calp) is recognisable from afar by the Peñón de Ifach rock rising straight out of the sea. The key thing for a newcomer: for healthcare Calp no longer belongs to Marina Baixa like Benidorm and Altea, but to the Dénia health department. On the plus side, the town’s health centre is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Padrón registration is by appointment only and free.

Padrón: appointment, documents, renewal

All padrón procedures in Calp are free and done in person at the OAC (Oficina de Atención al Ciudadano): Avenida de Ifach, 12, ground floor; tel. 965 833 600; estadistica@ajcalp.es. You will not be seen without an appointment: book it on the council website, and you can deal with up to three matters per visit. Print your ticket in the waiting room no earlier than 10 minutes before your slot, using the QR code from the email or your ID number. Online, via the e-office (calp.sedelectronica.es), you can only get registration certificates, with a digital certificate or DNIe.

Beaches and the Peñón de Ifach

In 2026 five Calp beaches received the Blue Flag (ADEAC): Cantal Roig, La Fossa, L’Arenal-Bol and, for the first time, Puerto Blanco and Racó. Arenal-Bol is the main town beach, 1,200 metres of fine sand; La Fossa (Levante) runs 950 metres north of the rock; Cantal Roig is small and calm, by the fishing port. Calp has 14 beaches and coves along 13 km of coast.

Assisted bathing points for people with reduced mobility (amphibious chair and crutches, adapted showers and toilets) operate at Arenal-Bol and La Fossa (C/ Llevant) from 1 July to 30 September, 11:00–19:00, by appointment only: 687 255 974. Climbing the Peñón de Ifach (a natural park since 1987) requires advance booking; the route takes about 2.5 hours. We found no dog beach on Calp’s tourism website; according to Benidorm’s tourist office, the nearest official one is L’Olla in Altea.
